FAQ
What do I get with a headshots session?
An actors headshot session includes 90 minutes of photographic coverage, unlimited looks,. Multiple locations can be used within that hour, and extra time is available. It's best to decide ahead of time if you will need more than an hour and a half of coverage so that we can schedule the right amount of time for your session. You can review your images on our secure preview page and choose at that time which images you want. Afterwards you will get three fully retouched hi resolution images and can purchase additional images for a reasonable fee. An executive headshots includes a 30 minute session and one retouched, hi-resolution image of your choice.
What about hair and makeup?
Hair and makeup is not included in the session fee. Most of the time men can get by without using makeup, but we recommend a powder or foundation to help even out skin tones and to keep the face from looking shiny. You can pick up a powder in your color at any department store, we recommend the MAC counter or a beauty supply store where you can get professional help picking the right color. For women we always recommend professional makeup. A professional makeup artist knows how to make you look your best for the camera.

You can bring your own makeup artist to the shoot, or we can schedule a great professional makeup artist for only $125.00. This fee is payable directly to the makeup artist on the day of the shoot. We work with some of the most experienced and talented hair and makeup artists in the area and they know exactly how to make you look your best while still looking natural.

Can I do my own makeup?
Yes of course...if you are a professional hair and makeup artist. You can do whatever you like really, but we strongly recommend that you use a professional. The equipment we use is state of the art, and the camera picks up every detail, a professional knows exactly how to make you look great for the camera. That is not always the same as looking good to go out on the town. We can help you choose a makeup artist; we work with several highly skilled and affordable artists in the area.
What should I wear for my headshots?

You should bring plenty of options to the shoot, we will go over it before hand but here are some pointers for you:
- Always bring clothes that match your style and personality.
- Avoid black clothes or white clothes, they tend to loose detail in some photographs.
- Stay away from clothes with busy patterns. Solid colors are best.
- Make sure any clothes that you bring are clean and neatly pressed. This goes double for collared shirts and suits. The camera picks up a lot more detail than you think.
- Blue Jeans always look great on camera, unless they are dingy and torn. For headshots your lower half won't make it in to most of the pictures, but don't neglect to pick out some good pants for the shoot.
- Make sure to dress comfortable but classy, v-neck and u-neck sweaters and shirts are great. For women tank-tops are always good, stay away from clothes that are too tight or uncomfortable.
- Collared button down shirts are great, a solid color with a crisp-clean white shirt underneath for the men and a stylish solid color for women. All shirts need to be clean and pressed.
- Be rested and drink plenty of water the day before your shoot, it is amazing for your skin.
- Don't bring any jewelry or props; the shoot is all about you, not accessories.
- Any color is great for tops, but remember that bright colors can draw away from your face so pick something muted that matches your eye color and skin tone.

How long does it take to get my pictures back?
For an average session, your headshots will be posted in a private, online gallery for you to view within one or two days of your session. Once you have selected your choices, you will receive your images retouched within one week. It usually only takes a day or two but never more than a week; we make the turnaround time as fast as possible by doing everything online.
How do I know which images to choose?
The images that you choose should be based on a couple of different factors: First consider what type of acting do you do (theater, commercials, television, film, spokesperson etc…) and think of what casting directors in that area will be looking for. Also you get multiple images with your shoot so be sure to choose a variety so that you have different images to send out for different types of jobs.

The second thing you need to consider is your agent. If you are a represented actor, it is vital to get the opinion of your agent when choosing your headshots. Agents know what type of shots will get you a call so trust their input and don’t worry about what you think of the way you look in the image personally. You may think you have the biggest nose in the world, but then again you might be crazy.

If you are a professional, make sure that you check with your company to find out if they have any specific guidelines for executive headshots. In many cases companies require specific things from the posing of the shots to the color of the background. If your company has no guidelines, consider being a little creative and getting an editorial style image that shows you in your native working environment.

How much retouching do you do?
We do the minimal amount of retouching to our images, color correction, sharpness, and cropping. We do remove some blemishes and draw attention to certain parts of the image by lightening and darkening. Other than that is important for you to look your best by getting plenty of rest before the shoot, getting a hair cut about a week ahead of time, and we highly recommend a facial for both men and women. Getting a facial several days to a week before the shoot can ensure that your skin will look its best. It is important for you to look natural, and too much retouching can make you look fake.
Where does the photo shoot take place?
We do the majority of our sessions in downtown Orlando. You just don't get better colors, textures, and backgrounds than in between and around the buildings and parks of downtown. We deliver an L.A. style type of headshot that draws out your personality and character by photographing you in places of visual interest. We also deliver a NY style headshot in our studio in the same session in order to insure that you get the widest range of images possible.
